Site Update – October 4, 2019:

The second phase of the interim remedial action began this week. This phase will use In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) to treat contamination in the northern portion of the site. ISCO involves injection of chemicals into the ground to oxidize and break down contaminants into harmless byproducts such as carbon dioxide and water.

During the week of September 30, 2019, the following activities occurred:

• Mobilized two drill rigs and support equipment to the site
• Started installation of injection well casings
• Started installation of monitoring wells
• Delivered waste roll-off boxes for containing soil, and a tank for containing water
• Delivered temporary jobsite trailer

Future activities will include continued installation of monitoring wells and injection well casings.
